New Bus service details - Anticlockwise only Print E-mail

Do something before it is too late - FRA have tried very hard to get a new bus service that will serve you all.  However the reality is that we are getting an anti-clockwise only direction No.9 service within Finham.
• The terminus will be at the top of Green Lane
• Bus will proceed down Green Lane up Howes Lane into Brentwood Avenue. Turn right  from Hadleigh Road down St Martins Road, across the roundabout and up Leamington Road, etc.,

• THE RETURN bus from town  will come down Leamington Road turn up Kenpas Highway and to Terminus at top of Green Lane, before starting its next journey down Green lane  into town.
• This set up, makes it impossible to make a return trip within Finham using a  single journey outward and single journey return.  This will affect residents wishing to go to the shops, the schools, the Post Office, The Church, Doctors Surgery, Chemist ,General stores and visit  friends & neighbours, etc.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
• write to your Wainbody Ward Councillors and ask what they have done on your behalf.

An obvious solution would seem to bring the No. 9 from town on the reverse route through Finham (and either turn the bus around on a triangular route at the top of Green Lane  using Bathway Road and the Kenpas Highway service road or even use a left turn out of Bathway Road 'for buses only' and make use of the pedestrian crossing lights to make this operation easier) .
Alternatively, if there is sufficient journey time available on the No.9, then why not bring the No. 9A out from town come back through Finham.

Latest Advice from Police Print E-mail

POLICE in Coventry are urging residents to lock their doors and windows at all times after a number of walk-in burglaries over the last few days across the city.
Officers are concerned that despite numerous crime prevention campaigns, many householders are still not securing their home before going out to work for the day or retiring to bed at night - often leaving rear doors and windows unlocked and vulnerable to opportunist thieves.
Burglars are then able to simply slip in and out of properties quickly - leaving with a haul of valuable items without having even gone to the trouble of breaking in.
Sergeant Mark Fletcher said: "Securing your doors and windows must become part of your daily routine, whether you are leaving home for the day, watching television in the evening or popping to the local shops for a few minutes.
